Privacy Policy
Your Privacy
Honoring your privacy is important to us at FaithandValues.com.
We want you to feel safe and we want you to know you can trust us. Our
basic policy is simple: We will not trade, sell or rent your personal
information to anyone at any time.
Please read on for detailed information
What personal information does FaithandValues.com collect?
- Information automatically collected: Every
computer connected to the Internet is given a set of numbers known as
an IP address. When you visit our Web site, our Web servers (like most
other Web servers) automatically recognize your IP address. This reveals
no personal information about you other than the IP address from which
you have accessed our site. We use this information to examine our traffic
in aggregate, but we do not collect this information about you as an
individual. Our Web servers do not record your e-mail address, unless
you choose to provide it as noted below.
- Information you provide: If you register
with FaithandValues.com we will record your full name,
email address and username and password. We use your email address to
communicate with you through opt-in newsletters, which you can choose
or decline.
We may ask for (but do not require) the name of your faith group if
you have a faith group affiliation. We collect this information to know
more about the needs of people visiting our site so that we can serve
you better. If you have provided us with your faith group preference
we may from time to time inform you by email of special offerings provided
by your faith group.
- Discussion group postings: We encourage
you to take part in our community discussions. You should be aware that
any postings are public. You must be a registered user to contribute
to a discussion, but anyone with Web access can read your postings.
When you register for our discussion groups, you have the option of
identifying yourself by a “username” other than your real
name.
- Surveys and polls: You may take part in
opinion surveys or polls from time to time on our site. Such polls may
sometimes request personal information. For example, a poll about your
views on income tax policy might ask your income level. Any such information
is collected only in the aggregate, and never in connection with information
that would identify you. Your participation in a survey or poll is always
anonymous.
- Exceptions: In certain clearly defined instances
(for example, a reasonable perception that an individual may cause harm
to himself or others), we may be required by law to provide any information
we hold about our users. It is our policy to comply with the law.
What about "cookies"?
Cookies are small packets of information that many Web sites transfer
to your computer's hard drive through your Web browser to enable their
systems to recognize you. Cookies may be permanently stored on your computer,
or stored for only as long as you remain connected to the individual Web
site (referred to as "session" cookies). We do not use permanent
cookies. Portions of our site use session cookies, for example, to allow
you to register with our site only once per visit. We do not collect or
store personal information through the use of cookies.
For more information about cookies and how to enable or disable them,
please use the Help function of your Web browser.
Partners and Affiliates
Our privacy policy applies to any actions you undertake while
you are on our site. You should be aware that some links will take you
off our site. In many such cases you will be visiting the Web site of
one of our partners or affiliates, such as our member faith groups. In
some cases you will be visiting commercial organizations such as Amazon.com.
We provide book sales in association with Amazon. Some links will take
you to Web sites with which we have no affiliation, but which have content
we feel would be of interest to you.
Any time you are visiting someone else's site, their privacy policies
will apply, and these policies may differ from ours. The URL (Web address)
shown in your browser's location bar will always display the words "faithandvalues.com"
(often as part of a much longer address) whenever you are on our site.
Your Consent To This Agreement
By using our Web site, you consent to our collection and use of information
as specified above. If we decide to change our privacy policy, we will
post those changes on this page so that you are always aware of what information
we collect, how we use it, and under what circumstances we disclose it.
Ultimately, you are the only one who can ensure your privacy. Our goal
is to provide you with all the information you need in order to do that.
Should you have any questions or comments regarding our privacy policy,
please contact us directly through privacy@faithandvalues.com
